Lynne

[Verse 1]
There's a scented candle on the table
And a quiet in the room
The kind of hush that settles in
When the world has lost its tune
I met you at nineteen, girl
And you stole this heart of mine

[Chorus]
Happy birthday, Lynne, I know it's hard
At 47 in the storm
May the Lord wrap you in His peace
And hold you till the morning's warm
You don't know, but you still hold a piece of my heart in your hand
I pray He gives you comfort where I can't

[Verse 2]
You're the most beautiful mother
That a daughter could have known
Though you and I had things to work out
You made sure Jaylyn never stood alone
At every game, there in the bleachers
Every Sunday, bringing her to church
Through every moment, you were present
Your love for Jesus always came first

[Chorus]
Happy birthday, Lynne, I know it's hard
At 47 in the storm
May the Lord wrap you in His peace
And hold you till the morning's warm
You don't know, but you still hold a piece of my heart in your hand
I pray He gives you comfort where I can't

[Bridge]
We've weathered storms, the ups and downs
I didn't always understand
But you were trying all along
And I'm still learning where I stand
But we'll always share a bond that lasts
And you'll always hold my heart

[Verse 3]
You work so hard, you tell it true
You treat folks how you'd want to be
Your friends all see that soul of gold
That the world don't often see
And one sweet day at Heaven's gate
She'll come running to your arms

[Final Chorus]
Happy birthday, Lynne, I know it's hard
At 47 in the storm
May the Lord wrap you in His peace
Till her memory keeps you warm
So blow that candle out tonight
She's smiling down on you
You don't know, but you still hold a piece of my heart in your hand
I'll keep praying all I can
